Opara Studios ("Opara Studios," "we," "us," or "our") provides tools for visual artists to create, host, and manage portfolio websites. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our website at oparastudios.com and related services (the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Information we collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Account information — such as your name, email address, and authentication details when you sign up or sign in (including via Google Sign-In or email and password).
- Profile and site content — portfolio text, images, artwork details, press information, contact details, and other content you add to your site.
- Billing information — subscription and payment status processed through our payment provider (Paystack). We do not store full card or bank credentials on our servers.
- Communications — messages you send through contact forms on published artist sites, and correspondence with our support team.
- Usage and technical data — device type, browser, IP address, pages visited, and similar logs used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
Google Sign-In and Google user data
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from Google (such as your name, email address, and profile picture) to authenticate you and create or manage your Opara Studios account.
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We use Google user data only to provide and improve account sign-in and authentication.
- We do not sell Google user data.
- We do not use Google user data for advertising, or transfer it to third parties except as needed to operate the Service (for example, secure hosting and authentication infrastructure), or as required by law.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Host, publish, and display your portfolio website
- Process subscriptions and payments
- Deliver messages sent through contact forms to site owners
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- Monitor performance, prevent abuse, and keep the Service secure
- Improve features and user experience
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the Service, including:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and account storage
- Cloudinary — image hosting and delivery
- Paystack — payment processing
- Vercel — application hosting
- Email providers — transactional email (such as account and contact notifications), when configured
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Content you publish on your portfolio site (such as artwork images, biography, and contact details) is intended to be public unless you restrict access through your site settings.
Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain data for legal, security, or billing purposes.
Your choices
- You may update profile and site content from your dashboard at any time.
- You may delete your account from dashboard settings, which removes your account and associated site data subject to our retention practices.
- You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information where applicable.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
